L-Ascorbic Acid (L-AA): Most effective but unstable. Derivatives: More stable but less powerful. Choose based on your needs.
Aim for 10-20% L-AA. Below 10% is ineffective. Above 20% can irritate. Check the pH—should be under 3.5.
Use AM after cleansing but before moisturizer. Always follow with SPF 30+. Vitamin C makes skin photosensitive.
Don't mix with niacinamide, retinol, or acids. Use vitamin C AM and actives PM. Space them 12 hours apart.
